History of Airpack

Peter Warnar, CEO and founder of Airpack Netherlands started as a commissioning engineer in the Middle East in the early 70's. He quickly learned that assembling installations in the field was a time consuming matter due to the long and difficult communication channels like Telex and fax.
This in combination with the costly repatriation of specialists from the mother company gave Peter the idea to assemble the units within the factory and ship them afterwards to save time and costs.
His home country The Netherlands presented the perfect location to carry out his idea. Communication was more advanced, specialists were higher educated and the infrastructure of Holland allowed for easy international transportation. The idea was complete.

In 1978 Peter started his company in a small office in the heart of Zierikzee, a scenic coastal town centred between Europe's biggest ports; Antwerp and Rotterdam. The manufacturing area was situated nearby the office and measured 500 m². Airpack Netherlands was born.
Nowadays Airpack is still situated in Zierikzee on the industrial park close to the centre of the town. The manufacturing hall has grown substantially to a total floor area of 13.500 m². The now two offices are located right beside it and span a grand total of 2.400 m².
Over the years commissioning time is reduced with more than 90% due to package constructions within the factory and improved communication channels such as internet and email.

Also the product portfolio has expanded over the years. At first Airpack started with manufacturing air compressor and air dryer packages. Now the Airpack scope ranges from both air as well as gas compressors and dryers to membrane type nitrogen generators and innovative desulphurization installations.
